Biography
His Excellency Professor Zoran Jolevski has an extensive background, having served as the Vice Rector for International Cooperation at the European University in Skopje. He held the position of Fellow at Harvard University and currently imparts his knowledge at esteemed American and European universities. With 30 years of experience spanning academia, diplomacy, management, and consulting, H.E. Prof. Zoran Jolevski specializes in diplomacy, international trade, development, national security, public-private dialogue, and private sector development. Presently, he acts as a consultant for various multinational companies.
In his distinguished career, Prof. Jolevski served as both Minister of Defense for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and the former Ambassador to the United States of America. Additionally, he was the Secretary General of the Cabinet for the late Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski and a key advisor to the Macedonian Government on World Trade Organization accession. From 1988 to 1999, he held various roles in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Macedonia to the UN headquarters in Geneva. During the Kosovo refugee crisis in 1999, he served as the Deputy National Coordinator.
Jolevski's influence extends to corporate and non-governmental boards, United Nations bodies in international trade, and leadership roles such as President of the Institute for Strategic Initiatives and Policies. He is also the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Ambassador's Round Table in San Diego, USA. Prof. Jolevski has been recognized as an honorary member of the Board of "Macedonia 2025" and currently serves on its Advisory Board. As a founder and initial President of the Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs – "Ohrid," he played a pivotal role. Additionally, he served as the President of "The Boris Trajkovski International Foundation" and led the Art Colony Debarca for several years. From 2004 to 2005, he was a member of the Presidency of the Macedonian Euro-Atlantic Club.
H.E. Prof. Zoran Jolevski earned a Ph.D. in International Economy from the School of Economics, University of Cyril and Methodius, and holds a Master of Science in International Trade Law from the same university's Law School. He has authored four books, been the chief editor of several others, and contributed more than fifty articles to the field.
